Avoid Marshall if your Carry doesn't benefit from the extra attack speed (Revenant for example) or if you evaluate you need more sustain on lane after that is a matter of how often and how hard you're getting targeted and from there is a choice of whether going full shield build, full support route is best when your team has good self reliance and fights are grupal picked and decisive, Infinite shield is for wars of attrition with constant skirmishes and not so organized objective fights however there is still a lot of value being able to constantly spam your shield buffs on someone.
If you are getting targeted in group fights the you'll need survivability Golems Gift and Spell breaker are thrown into the mix for that, pick one as convenient or both if needed.
