Overall you have to focus on farm and pushing in the enemy. With that said, going back at the right time to buy the first item as soon as possible is pretty important. Turret placements are important so take this build and just go for it while understanding turret placements in lane.
You want to place your turrets in a way, that you always have pushing advantage. This is what makes you a good iggy laner. Control where the lane is crashing (the minions stop to fight each other) and where it will crash next wave if you put the next turret in this position.
Use your turrets lvl1 to pressure the enemy, but keep lane crashing in mind. I could go deep into this, but i think you just have to figure it out yourself while being rdy to learn.
If enemy pushes you or can kill towers skill E lvl 3.
Let them come to you, believe me at the moment everyone jumps into you, no matter how much turrets are up. The only think people seems to understand is to kill turrets, which you can use to your adventage as well aka bait.
If you really want to push you skill limits get you money up not your funny up instead of the slow item (and then sell it at full items for the slow item, because in late game you teamfights will be mostly dodging anyways.)
Focus on dodging once the enemies are in your turrets, if you fight 75% of a teamfight not facing the enemy, you are doing it right.
Noone seem to get how to play this char so it's getting buffed every patch, i hope I dont jinx myself with sharing this, but I destroyed my lanes after 2-3 games of practice and then figured out the item build to stay relevant late.
