Kira - Overview

Kira is a pretty interesting carry in that you can build her both as on-hit and crit and still do okay. Looking at Kira's passive, you do 1.5% more damage per stack (built by auto attacking someone), and after hitting 6 stacks you begin doing true damage. So we can either drop some damage to hit that true damage threshold faster, or drop attack speed for damage and crit making the true damage hit harder but come online slower. I have tested this a lot and believe on-hit is superior, but I've included a setup for the crit enthusiasts as well. I encourage you to test both and decide which you prefer.

Crest Options

- Marksman / Liberator: This crest is an absolute must vs certain comps and heroes. If the enemy team has a Riktor, Aurora, Fey, or Gideon then you should default to this automatically. It is also just good in general vs a lot of other characters. If you don't know what to pick, this is always good and also provides a shield on use.

- Marksman / Eviscerator: This crest synergizes quite nicely with Kira's passive and can help you get the true damage online faster. Because Kira has a built in dash, this can be used in most matches if you are using your dash effectively to avoid hard CC. I would only use this crest if you are using the on-hit setup.

Core Items

- Storm Breaker: Similar to Sparrow, Kira synergizes very well with on-hit effects and passives. Also, Kira's biggest weakness in general is her abysmal wave clear. Well this item solves that issue. This should always be your first item to start stacking, allowing you to wave clear as needed, and the chain zap applies your passive stack to everyone it hits. This means that if your chain lightning hits 5 people and then you Q (LB/L1), your Q (LB/L1) will hit ALL 5 people.

- Sky Splitter: Another wonderful on-hit item that works wonders on Kira. Your two item spike will make you able to box with any carry and win if you are hitting your shots (minus Sparrow while she is ulting).

- Kingsbane: Due to with synergy with Stormbreaker, this item is still an absolute must build for on-hit carries as a 3rd item. The ability haste is also very nice because Kira's abilities are all very useful.

Finalizing Build

These are generally the last 3 items you will want to build, however, the order of these items can vary depending on what you need the soonest.

- Demolisher: A staple item for basically every carry build. This item should be built 4th in most cases unless you are vs a very squishy team, then it is okay to move this later in the guild and build Kingsbane 4th instead. Outside of that, you should be building this to deal with frontliners.

- Tainted Rounds: This item is still the strongest late game on-hit item for carries. You should default to build this as your 5th item for the insane damage and the healing reduction which will effect everyone in some way late game. Unless you are TwinBlast, or using Kira's RMB (RB/R1) Poke variant, I highly recommend this for all on hit carries.

- Dust Devil: This was an extremely powerful on-hit item that is now even better for on-hit builds. Great way to round the build out and proc on-hit effects much faster while also getting movement speed. Take Onixian Quiver instead if you are struggling vs a tanky enemy frontline.

Situational Items

- Equinox: This item is a great option if you are having trouble staying alive in team fights. The raw stats synergize very nicely with Kira and the passive shield can often be life or death for you in team fights. Replace Dust Devil or Tainted Rounds with this if needed.

- Onixian Quiver: This item is great vs front liners with large hitboxes (Steel, Rampage, Sevarog, etc). If you are having trouble with a tank frontliner then consider taking quiver over Dust Devil as it will out perform in terms of DPS by a decent bit against these targets.

Skill Order

I recommend the following skill max order:

PC: R > RMB > Q > E
Xbox: LB+RB > RB > LB > LT
PS: L1+R1 > R1 > L1 > L2

Because Kira is best with on-hit items, I maxing RMB (RB/R1) first will generally give you the best results. This is because your RMB (RB/R1) applies on-hit effects and can be weaved in between auto attacks. It also allows you to poke a lot while laning. E (LT/L2) can be maxed 2nd if you REALLY need the extra mobility.

Tips and Tricks

Kira's ulti applies stacks, after using your ulti use Q (LB/L1) to pop your stacks on everyone you ulti'd. Try not to use Q when fighting unless it's to execute someone. When you use Q (LB/L1) you will get rid of your stacks on all targets, which means you will auto them for less damage after using it. Use RMB (RB/R1) between autos as a filler for extra damage and an extra stack. RMB (RB/R1) has longer range than auto attacks so use it for poking if you can. You can use your dash while ulting to close the gap if you have it off CD. A good poke combo is E (LT/L2) -> RMB (RB/R1) -> Auto > Q (LB/L1). You can also do this combo without the auto attack if you're not in auto range.
