Predecessor Builds > Sparrow > 🏹 Sparrow Builds [v1.6.2 - Updated 7/3]

Augments - Major
- Inner Fury: This augment is really strong if you are vs a team with low amounts of CC so that you can get the value out of the extra damage on the ultimate. If the enemy team has stuns or silences (especially vs a Riktor or Steel) you will typically want to take Veiled Stalker instead.
- Veiled Stalker: This augment is extremely versatile in that it lets you both be extra aggressive if you want, or it can be used as a tool for escaping or respositioning quickly. I almost always take this augment if I'm vs characters such as Steel, Riktor, Countess, or Serath (to run away after she dives you).
- Endless Hunt: I personally would not recommend this augment. The main reason is because Sparrow's non-ultimate abilities are not her primary source of damage and you will primarily be auto attacking in fights to do damage. If you do want low cooldowns, you can easily build Ashbringer to do the job instead.
Augments - Minor
I would recommend taking the following minor Augments on Sparrow:
- Ultimatum: Your ultimate does 6% more damage. If you are not using the ultimate major augment, you can take voracity if you'd like some extra life steal. I typically take ultimatum regardless of what major augment I use.
- Executioner: Deal 6% more damage to Heroes below 40% Max Health. I would recommend always taking this regardless of your major augment.
Crest Options
- Marksman / Liberator: This crest is your safest bet and will serve you the best in almost every match. You will want to get used to using this to immediately break long CC's such as Steel's stun or Ult, or in 1v1 scenarios it can also be used as a backup shield.
- Marksman / Eviscerator: This crest has been recently buffed and is incredibly strong paired with the Inner Fury major augment. If you are using Veiled Stalker, I would not recommend using Eviscerator since you are likely vs a high cc enemy team, so you will want liberator instead. If you are vs a low cc comp and are using Inner Fury, this is a solid option to completely delete people.
- Marksman / Pacifier: This crest is a solid option over Liberator vs squishy/low CC comps, or if you have a reliable Phase support. I rarely use this crest but it is not a bad option if you are efficient with it.
Skill Order
At level 1 you can take your snipe or rain of arrows to help with wave clear. I personally always take snipe so I can wave clear and also poke at level 1. At level 2 it will depend. If the enemy duo are fast pushing the wave into you and you need more wave clear, take snipe/hail of arrows at level 2 (whichever you didn't take at level 1). If they are not fast pushing the lane, you can take your attack speed buff instead because of how much of an advantage it can give you in a potential an all in trade at level 2. I always max my snipe first as it becomes an extremely important tool for securing kills and poking in lane. 99% of the time, I will max the attack speed buff second because I don't usually need that much extra wave clear in the mid game from hail of arrows. If you do need extra wave clear or just prefer the security of having it, maxing hail of arrows second is a viable option.
Tips and Tricks
Positioning is everything on Sparrow, and you want to pretty much put yourself in a position where all of the enemy heroes are in one direction from you. Keeping this in mind as you approach team fights will help a lot with avoiding being flanked. Also, as Sparrow (and carry in general) you really need to just be hitting what is in front of you. You are a piece of paper and if you walk up even a little bit too much, you can (and will) be killed by good players. In lane, poke at your enemies when you can with auto attacks followed by a snipe when they back up. Try not to use your hail of arrows for wave clear unless absolutely necessary, and instead hold it for a potential play. You can use hail of arrows aggressively (walk forward and drop it on a target to slow them dramatically), making it much easier to trade damage with them favorably. Saving it can also make the difference in you escaping if the enemy duo decides to aggress on you. Sparrow is a carry who can easily play from behind so don't be discouraged if you are getting destroyed. Focus on farming and getting yourself ahead and let your team know via chat/pings whatever. This does not mean you should ignore your team when it makes sense. If they are grouping for objectives for instance, you should set your lane so that it is slowly pushing towards the enemy and then rotate to assist them. However, if they take outnumbered or losing fights without giving you a chance to get there, that is something you simply can't prevent and you should just focus on getting yourself ahead by farming and taking towers, etc...
