Helps against heavy magic damage from enemies like Countess, Fey, Gideon, Sev, Shinbi while allowing you to still deal heavy damage and prevent them from healing on top of that. Tainted Bastion is mainly what you need as it negates damage up to 6% while causing their healing to reduce with every hit. There are definitely items you can substitute but this is the build I like for straight magic resist with physical damage.
