Predecessor Builds > Shinbi > Scale Shinbae .18
Scale Shinbae is not good early. This build cooks mid to late game. Core of the build is Azure Core for mana scaling Orb of growth for sustain and Tainted/Megacosm for damage spike.
2 versions
Lifesteal ability power:
Crest: Magician > Tempest
Alchemical Rod
back at 700gp to get the most out of mana stacks.
Orb of growth
Again get it asap. This takes time to come online.
Tainted or Megacosm
Tainted is for building against the enemy. This works against offlane/jungle that heals as well as low HP team comps.
Megacosm is going to be the better damage option. If your team is building tainted or the other team is building beefy items go this route.
LifeBinder/Magnify
Lifebinder is Damage and lifesteal.
Magnify is a bit more brusier focused. Get this if behind.
Azure Core
Mana power scaling.
Magnify/Lifebinder
Whichever you didnt get last time.
Oblivion Crown/Flex
If you steam rolled this will push your power.
If you need something put it here.
On Hit alt:
Crest: Magician > Typhoon
Alchemical Rod
back at 700gp to get the most out of mana stacks.
Orb of growth
Again get it asap. This takes time to come online.
Tainted or Megacosm
Tainted is for building against the enemy. This works against offlane/jungle that heals as well as low HP team comps.
Megacosm is going to be the better damage option. If your team is building tainted or the other team is building beefy items go this route.
Magnify
HP/Lifesteal/on hit...great caster item.
Prophecy
Atk spd and magic damage on every hit. Scales from magic power.
Azure Core
Mana power scaling.
OathKeeper/Flex
More powerful on hit.
Gameplay Tips
Early game
You will lose most trades against most matchups. (given the other offlaner is at least good... Always assume they are good)
Q is your best friend. The line wolf is your minion last hit. This is also your poke. Prioritize minions but the wolf goes through so try to line up the enemy to hit both with 1 wolf.
You want to freeze wave near your tower. Get CS and get your Alchemical and Orb. Use line wolf to create distance and stay alive, you scale so you will win long term.
DONT EXPECT GANKS but set them up. Enough poke and your jungle might see an easy pick in your lane. This will be hard against anyone with built in sustain.
Save your Dash for escape. Use your Circle wolves for engage. You clear minions well. If you can Circle up and "attack" the offlaner but make sure you are hitting minions with your abilities. Minions do alot of damage in the early game.
Mid Game
I consider Shinbae in mid game when you have hit 2 benchmarks. Items (Alchem and Orb) and Ult.
This is where you want to change play styles. You can be more aggressive. Once you hit lvl 6 your wolves will start creating stacks (up to 8) after a few seconds the stacks will drop. All stacks drop at once. This means you need to get good at landing line wolf almost on cooldown. Every wolf will restart the stack timer.
With stacks in mind your line wolf is still your minion last hit however now you want to prioritize enemy offlaner without forgetting about minions. Orb will give you sustain as you do this. If you get enough poke or you get attacked, circle wolves will build stacks fast and you can use dash to avoid enemy abilities. (dash can be interrupted easier than you think). Ult is a good chunk of extra damage the enemy usually forgets about. Use this for kill when enemy is about 1/3-1/4 hp or to deter them from attacking at like 1/2 hp. Lvl 1 Ult doesnt do alot of damage. Ult still does damage after you die. Your Ult will attack 1 target and it is whomever has the most stacks or had stacks the longest if tied.
This is where your wave should be crashing into enemy tower. You do enough damage and have enough escape mobility to start being aggressive with wave. You want to make their team rotate to you. So ward, ward, ward. You need at least 1 ward at all times.
You can also start to rotate more at this point. You should anticipate OBJs such as feng and river and make plans to rotate to either steal jungle, kill midlane, or help OBJ, in that order. Goal is to have impact over more than just offlane.
Late Game
Late game doesnt have as clear of a transition.
This build is bruiser so you have the HP and lifesteal to start fights and stay alive while also the burst damage to kill squishes and hurt tanks. At the same time Shinbae has great waveclear. Late game is understanding when to split push lanes, Set lanes and group up, attack OBJs, Zone OBJs, and which targets are the priority. This comes down to game sense and is more difficult to articulate in a build guide.
Good luck have fun and stay positive in game!
